The name feels clinical,
narrow. Incomplete.

Call it hyacinth, and
what’s called to mind?

Burgeoning beauty;
sweet scent.

But sombol,
In the desert of Persian snow

it creeps through,
to reckon a new year,

to call upon a new day,
in myth, always returning.

But now,
will it?
